Blocking is one of my least favorite things when it comes to finishing a project, but it's a very important step in the process, as it's what makes the fiber and the garment to life. This is a custom project for a friend who I have done work for before. It's a Christmas present that the friend is giving to her brother.
The pattern is Sailing by Meg Gadsbey. It's a great gender neutral pattern and makes a terrific neckerchief, which is the thought behind it for the gift. What's especially fun about this particular garment is that the yarn a wool and Samoyed blend. This was done at a commercial mill in New England and the company is no longer in business, so THAT's how I justify my stash (aka why I continue to hoard)!
